On December 4th, in the auspice of Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by Institute of International Studies and Center for Asia-Pacific Cooperation and Governance, the International Cooperation Management Program (hereinafter referred to as ICMP) for Local Authorities in Asia and Oceania was convened at Fudan University. Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies cum Director of the Center for American Studies and the Center for Asia-Pacific Cooperation and Governance at Fudan University, presided over the inaugural plenary ceremony. Mr. ZHU Weimin, Deputy Director-General, Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government addressed welcome remarks.
ICMP featured the 6th annual sequential with proactively concerted endeavors, which drew over ten distinguished participants from Mumbai, India, Jakarta, Indonesia, Queensland, Australia, Istanbul, Turkey, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Bangkok, Thailand to attend the fabulous program. Research Fellow LIN Minwang at the Institute of International Studies and Professor YIN Xingmin at the School of Economics, Fudan University, presented thematic lectures entitled "China's National Governance and Foreign Policy in the New Era" and "The Role of Shanghai in China's Economic Development Strategy against the Backdrop of the New Era" successively. The attendants at the event engaged in interactive rounds with the presenters on how to facilitate urban and local governance in Asia and Oceania in the global context of blazing eco-compatible trails to foster the interworking and to promote common development with a sound impetus.
